Reeder's Take

BREAKING NEWS: Gross has broken ankle, Smith should be fine

Panthers LT Jordan Gross broke his ankle in Sunday’s win over the Atlanta Falcons, which likely will end his season. Coach John Fox wouldn’t say how long Gross will miss, but with seven games left it would be pretty miraculous if Gross could make it back before the end of the season.

We should know more later this week if the Panthers will put him on injured reserve or keep him on the roster in the rare chance he gets better and the they’re somehow able to rebound and make the playoffs.

–WR Steve Smith has some bruised ribs, but otherwise is fine.
