The Miami Dolphins could be without star RB Ronnie Brown this Thursday night when they travel to face the Carolina Panthers in a nationally televised game. Brown injured his ankle in a win over Tampa Bay and left the stadium on crutches, according to published reports.
It would be a tough turnaround for Brown to get ready on such a short week.
If he can’t play, then the Panthers will face RB Ricky Williams. Brown is the key to Miami’s Wildcat offense under Dan Henning. Although Williams will also run it, the Dolphins primarily use Brown in that role and he’s very effective running (and throwing) from that formation.
So Miami’s loss might be Carolina’s gain.
If the Panthers can get by the Dolphins, they would have two very winnable football games coming up against the New York Jets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, both of whome are struggling, which would allow them a chance to get to 7-5. But first things first. They will have to get by Miami.
