THURSDAY: Williams sits out practice again, but expects to play

December 3rd, 2009, 1:23 pm · Post a Comment · posted by

DeAngelo Williams missed his second straight day of practice today with an ankle injury, but coach John Fox said hopes his start running back will be back on the field Friday and expects him to play Sunday.

Also out were QB Jake Delhomme (finger), WRs Muhsin Muhammad (knee) and Dwayne Jarrett (ankle), DE Charles Johnson (pectoral), DT Tank Tyler (knee), CB Captain Munnerlyn (concussion). Muhammad went from limited practice to no practice in a day, raising some concern about his status.

That means Charly Martin (or Kenny Moore) could get a shot to start this week if Jarrett and Muhammad can’t get back on the field.

RB Jonathan Stewart returned to practice Thursday as usual. FB Brad Hoover, LB Na’il Diggs and OG Mackenzy Bernadeau also practiced.
