Coach John Fox said nine players won’t make the trip to Pittsburgh for Thursday night’s game against the Steelers. They include RB Tyrell Sutton, WR Trent Guy, OL Jeff Otah and C.J. Davis, DE Tyler Brayton, CBs Richard Marshall, Captain Munnerlyn and C.J. Wilson and S Aaron Francisco.
Fox wouldn’t say if WR Steve Smith and RB Jonathan Stewart would play, calling that a “game-time decision.”
He said the starters are slated to play the first quarter, but that could change. Normally, the starters play about one series, but there have been some years where Fox had kept them out altogether in the preseason finale. Either way, they won’t play much as the Panthers look for backups to fill out there roster.
I’ll have a story later today about the ongoing battles entering the final preseason game.
