Reeder's Take

Wannstedt could get a look as defensive coordinator

As the Panthers go about filling out their coaching staff, several names will emerge including some from last year’s staff.
Dave Wannstedt, the former coach of the University of Pittsburgh and with the Miami Dolphins, is expected to interview for the job, although a source close to the situation stopped short of declaring him the favorite for the job.
The Panthers interest in Wannstedt was first reported by ESPN.com’s Pat Yasinskas.
It’s possible the Panthers could look at re-hiring former defensive coordinator Ron Meeks, although his power would be limited with new head coach Ron Rivera expected to have a major hand in game planning.
