The only upside of a lockout season for the Panthers

   Nobody wants a lockout.

   Not the owners. Not the players.

   But if there is one bright spot for the Panthers it is that they would indeed get the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL draft if there is no football in 2011, a high-ranking league source has confirmed to Carolina Growl.

   That would mean consecutive No. 1 overall picks in 2011 and 2012 for the Panthers — and another shot at Andrew Luck. So I ask you fans, is a year off from football worth the wait for Luck? Nah, didn’t think so.

   But it’s something to think about.
