Mallett rumor denied by agent, Panthers

Earlier today there was a report out of Arkansas that Razorbacks QB Ryan Mallett had called in and cancelled an interview with the Panthers after a night out on the town in Charlotte April 8.
But Mallett’s agent put out a long statement refuting that report, saying Mallett was ill and did meet with team officials prior to being sent back to his hotel. Mallett was too ill to continue the interview. The Panthers confirmed what Mallett’s agents said.
The interesting part of all of this is in the statement by his agent he mentioned the Panthers did meet with WR Julio Jones. Jones is not considered a No. 1 pick but could be a trade down option.
