Panthers claim FB Jerome Felton off waivers from the Detroit Lions

   The Carolina Panthers have claimed FB Jerome Felton off waivers from the Detroit Lions.

   Felton, 6-foot and 246 pounds, has started 16 games over the past three seasons for the Lions prior to being waived. Carolina’s starting FB Tony Fiammetta has missed nearly three weeks of practice while recovering from a concussion.

   “Just got to Carolina, love the vibe here,” Felton said on Twitter. “I know they’re serious about being a physical run team, can’t wait to contribute.”

   To make room on the roster, the Panthers have released FB Rashawn Jackson to make room on the roster for Felton.

   “He’s a good young fullback that we liked coming out college,” Hurney said. “He’s a tough, physical player and a good runner.”
